THE I-st PILGRIMAGE OF JOHN PAUL II - 02.06÷10.06.1979
"LET YOUR SPIRIT DESCEND"

ROUTE: WARSZAWA-GĘBARZEWO-GNIEZNO-JASNA GÓRA- CZĘSTOCHOWA-KRAKÓW-KALWARIA ZEBRZYDOWSKA- WADOWICE-OŚWIĘCIM-BRZEZINKA-NOWY TARG-MOGIŁA- NOWA HUTA


The goal of the Pilgrimage was participation in the central celebrations of the 900 Anniversary Jubilee of martyr's death of St. Stanislaus from Szczepanów. The Holy Father visited Mary's Sanctuaries in Częstochowa and Kalwaria Zebrzydowska, in Kraków he closed of the Priesthood Synod of Cracow Archdiocese, prayed in front of "block of death" and in front of "wall of death" as well as in front of Monument of Martyrdom of Nations at the area of former extermination camp in Oświęcim-Brzezinka, met government authorities in Belweder and visited his native regions - Wadowice and Kraków


THE II-nd PILGRIMAGE OF JOHN PAUL II - 16.06÷23.06.1983
"PEACE BE WITH YOU, POLAND"

ROUTE: WARSZAWA-NIEPOKALANÓW-CZĘSTOCHOWA-JASNA GÓRA- POZNAŃ-KATOWICE-WROCŁAW-GÓRA Św. ANNA- KRAKÓW-NOWA HUTA-MISTRZEJOWICE


The goal of the Pilgrimage was the participation of Vicegerent of Christ in the Jubilee of 600 Anniversary of Jasna Góra. The Pilgrimage was performed during Marshal Law. In Poznań the Holy Father accomplished beatification of Urszula Julia Marie Ledóchowska (1865÷1939), Ursuline, foundress of Grey Ursuline Congregation, Pole; in Crakov Albert Adam Chmielowski (1845÷1916), of the Franciscan's Tertiary, the founder of Albert's Brothers and Sisters Albert Monastic Order, Pole; of Rafal from St. Joseph Joseph Kalinowski (1835÷1907), insurgent, deportee to Siberia, priest, Carmelite monk, renovator of Carmelite Order, Pole. The Holy Father visited the Prime Minister General Wojciech Jaruzelski, received "honoris causa" doctorate of all faculties at the Catholic University of Lublin, doctorate "honoris causa" of all faculties of the Jagielloński University.


THE III-rd PILGRIMAGE OF JOHN PAUL II - 08.06÷14.06.1987
"HE LOVED US TO THE END OF ALL TIMES"

ROUTE: WARSZAWA-MAJDANEK-LUBLIN-TARNÓW-CRAKOV- SZCZECIN-GDYNIA-GDAŃSK-CZĘSTOCHOWA-JASNA GÓRA- ŁÓDŹ-WARSZAWA


Holy Father contributed to the II Country Eucharist Congress, performed beatification in Tarnów Caroline Kózkówna (1898÷1914), virgin, martyr, Pole; in Warszawa - Michal Kozal (1893÷1943), Bishop, suffrage of Włocławek, martyr, Pole, consecrated the corner stone under construction of John Paul II College - a new university edifice of KUL (Catholic University of Lublin), met representatives of Christian Churches associated in Polish Ecumenical Council, paid visit to Chairmen of State Council of Polish Peoples Republic Wojciech Jaruzelski, met Lech Wałęsa.

ROUTE: KOSZALIN-RZESZÓW-PRZEMYŚL-LUBACZÓW-KIELCE- RADOM-ŁOMŻA-BIAŁYSTOK-OLSZTYN-WŁOCŁAWEK- PŁOCK-WARSZAWA

John Paul II performed beatification in Rzeszów Sebastian Joseph Pelczar (1842÷1924), Bishop, founder of Servants of the Holy Heart of Jesus Congregation, Pole; in Białystok - of Boleslawa Lament (1862÷1946), foundress of the Holy Family Missionary Sisters Congregation, Pole; in Warszawa - Rafała Chyliński (1694÷1741), priest, convent Franciscan, Pole. He opened the II Outdoor Synod, met President of Poland Lech Wałęsa and state authorities in Royal Castle in Warsaw. .


THE VIII-th PILGRIMAGE OF JOHN PAUL II - 05.06÷17.06.1999
"GOD IS MY LOVE"

ROUTE: GDAŃSK-PELPLIN-ELBLĄG-LICHEŃ-BYDGOSZCZ-TORUŃ-EŁK-WIGRY-SIEDLCE-DROHICZYN-WARSZAWA-RADZYMIN-ŁOWICZ-SANDOMIERZ-ZAMOŚĆ-SOSNOWIEC-GLIWICE-KRAKÓW-WADOWICE-STARY SĄCZ

The Holy Father pried for Jews at Umshlagplatz, met with Rectors of Polish Universities, Academies, Institute of Engineering, participated in the Ecumenical meeting in Drohiczyn. At the meeting there were present the Head of the Orthodox Church in Poland - archbishop Sawa and representative of other churches. For the first time in history of the Church the Holy Father visited National Parliament.
